About WorldatWork® - Total Rewards Association
WorldatWork is the leading global nonprofit, 501(c)(3) organization for professionals who are engaged in the critically important practice of Total Rewards. Founded in 1955, WorldatWork provides a network of nearly 30,000 members in more than 100 countries with training, certification, research, conferences and community. WorldatWork shares its Total Rewards thought leadership via various platforms:
In 1955, the association was founded in Toledo, Ohio by wage and salary professionals because they wanted to share best pay practices and wage information. Throughout the 1950s, 1960s, 1970s and much of the 1980s, the organization’s core business focused on compensation. In the late 1980s and into the 1990s, concepts of total compensation (and, later, Total Rewards) were developed and popularized. The original Ohio Wage and Salary Association changed its name twice (Midwest Compensation Association and then the American Compensation Association (ACA). In 1999, reflecting the need to broaden services and audiences, we became WorldatWork.
WorldatWork Mission:
Create compelling and powerful Total Rewards solutions that elevate the employee experience.
WorldatWork Vision:
A world of productive, committed, and inspired workforces fueled by meaningful Total Rewards
