Total Rewards PDX sponsors two scholarship options to promote Total Rewards professions in Portland and SW Washington Human Resources community - a Professional Scholarship and Student Scholarship.

Professional Scholarship

The scholarship opportunities for the TRPDX professional members includes various courses and events, which are below.

Scholarship Options - choose only one selection

  • Registration to attend one Virtual/E-Learning WorldatWork course up to $1,500 in value in 2023. The course can be towards a certification or one of their other non-certification course offerings, such as an Excel course.
    • We request that you use this referral code when registering: LNCERTIFICATION22. This allows a portion of the profits to be shared with TRPDX so that we can continue to create meaningful content for our members.

  • A subsidy of up to $1,500 toward the registration cost for the 2023 WorldatWork conference. (Excludes travel, meals, hotel, or airfare)

TRPDX will award one scholarship each calendar year (dependent on funding). 

Application Eligibility and Selection Criteria

  • Be a current TRPDX member.  Not a TRPDX member?  CLICK HERE TO JOIN NOW.
  • Fully complete and submit the Scholarship Application according to the instructions by February 28, 2023.
  • Provide any supporting documentation, such as a resume or professional work example to demonstrate your need of a specific course or event.
  • If you chose a WorldatWork certification course, scholarship recipients must take the certification exam associated with their certification course within the year the scholarship is received to be reimbursed through this scholarship. This ensures TRPDX's goal of promoting certification in the Portland and SW Washington area.

The TRPDX Board of Directors/Scholarship Committee will select the scholarship recipients. Incomplete applications will not be considered. Special consideration will be given to applicants whose organizations provide no, or very little, financial support for certification.

Student Scholarship

TRPDX is proud to award a $1,000 scholarship to a student with a desire to pursue a career in the Compensation, Benefits, and/or Total Rewards fields.  

TRPDX is accepting 2023 Student Scholarship applications beginning January 15, 2023.  The deadline for receipt of all applications and supporting documents is February 28, 2023.  Instructions on where to submit your application can be found on the scholarship application (link below).

Application Eligibility and Selection Criteria

  • Currently enrolled in a Business or HR-related degree program at an accredited college or university;
  • Have a GPA of 2.75 or higher;
  • Complete and submit the scholarship application;
  • Submit current transcripts; and
  • Provide other supporting documentation for your application, such as: resume, list of organizations affiliated with, and/or examples of applicable academic projects or professional work.

Student applicants will be evaluated based on academic achievements, GPA, and the desire to pursue a career in the Compensation, Benefits and Total Rewards professions. Students may only submit one application per academic year, and are eligible for a lifetime maximum of two scholarships. The awarding or non-awarding of scholarships is at the discretion of the TRPDX scholarship committee.
