Portland Community College is seeking a temporary PT Compensation & Classification Assistant to join our dynamic team! If you enjoy working with diverse groups of people, have an analytical mind, strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, and are passionate about serving your community, we want to hear from you! This opportunity is based at the PCC Downtown Center with easy access via MAX light rail and will also include remote work. The work schedule is Monday - Friday with flexible hours for approximately three to six months. Pay is ~$18-25/hr DOE.

Some duties/responsibilities include:

  • Assisting in reviewing and revising job descriptions
  • Conducting salary placements
  • Human Resources data entry
  • Completing reports and surveys on College compensation and benefits data 
  • Utilizing published surveys or online research to make market pay rate recommendations
  • Partnering with Analysts on initial pay equity review and analysis
  • Under the guidance of Analysts, researching, compiling, and evaluating HR data 
  • Working within PCC systems and procedures, ensuring aspects of job creation are addressed in a timely manner (i.e. creation of position numbers, web posting of new and revised descriptions, etc.)
  • Processing a variety of HR forms utilizing established policies and procedures
